Getting Better Every Day at Trinidad
In a step towards advancing our sustainability efforts, Nutrien is proud to announce the launch of three electric vehicle (EV) chargers at our Trinidad Nitrogen site for use by employees.
This initiative embodies our deeply rooted Culture of Care, ensuring we contribute positively to the environment.
Employee Benefits
Providing on-site EV chargers offers numerous benefits to our employees:
- Convenience: Employees can charge their vehicles while at work, making it easier to adopt and use electric vehicles without the concern of finding charging stations during their commute.
- Cost Savings: Electric vehicles may be more cost-effective to operate than traditional gasoline-powered vehicles.
On May 27, 2024, Nutrien Trinidad hosted a launch event attended by members of the Leadership Team and staff members. Managing Director, Erik Vettergren, emphasized the importance of sustainable practices and highlighted the long-term benefits of even small changes. Following his address, Senior Manager of Operations, Juma Riley, officially activated the power supply for the chargers, making them available for employee use.
The EV chargers have been designed to include multiple safety features that aim to help protect users and their vehicles. Reservations for the chargers are managed through an internal booking system, with usage governed by an approved policy.
Proactively Plugging into Progress
By investing in a variety of transportation infrastructure, like these EV stations, Nutrien continues to help build a more sustainable pathway for our employees and the environment.
