Getting Better Every Day at Trinidad

At our Trinidad Nitrogen facility, water is an integral resource to supplement the site’s daily operations. As a shared community resource, we know that every drop counts.

Nutrien supports the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal for responsible consumption and production, so water conservation efforts have been at the forefront of our ESG target to reduce annual freshwater use in current operations by 3.0 million cubic meters by 2025.

With a continuous improvement mindset, the site has designed and installed two new water recovery units with a combined saving of approximately 2.4 million gallons of water each month. This is not only good for the environment, but good for the bottom line.

“We’re committed to responsible water consumption and proactive conservation of water resources, said Lianne Moy Hing, Environmental Coordinator at the Trinidad site. “By embracing sustainable practices, implementing advanced filtration technology and automating key processes, we not only optimize water usage but also contribute to environmental sustainability and cost savings.”

Nutrien's commitment to water conservation embodies our Culture of Care - for our operations, community and environment – and our ongoing efforts towards getting Better Every Day.
