Trinidad steelpan band steals the show
In Trinidad, Nutrien isn't just known for its nitrogen products that help feed the future around the world – it's also the sponsor of an award-winning steelpan band.
The Nutrien Silver Stars Steel Orchestra, made up of 60 members based in Port-of-Spain, celebrated 75 years of thrilling performances on the national musical instrument of Trinidad. They also recently placed third at the 2023 National Panorama Competition.
Their energy is a sight to behold and is always a fan favorite. Enjoy the following clip from a recent performance.
In addition to supporting food security, education and other local community initiatives, Nutrien is proud to participate in this iconic and historical cultural tradition. Largely comprised of youth and young adults under the mentorship of more experienced musicians, the Silver Stars are a shining representation of Nutrien’s contribution to Trinidad and Tobago.
